The project is feasibility study for development of run-off river hydropower (67 MW) in Solukhumbu district. The scope of work will include (i) feasibility study of hydropower and (ii) EIA of the project. Main project features include weir (100 m length) with side intake, surface desanding basin, headrace tunnel (4.5 km), surge tank, surface power house.
The scope of work for feasibility study includes:
- desk study and map interpretation
- verification of location of project components, conduct field investigations comprising topographical surveys, geological, geo-technical and geophysical investigation, hydrological and sediment studies, seismic study
- alternative configuration and optimization studies
- power evacuation study to Integrated Nepal Power System
- project layout and design of civil structures such as intake, waterways (tunnel, surge tank), power house
- layout and design of hydraulic structures, power generating equipment and substation
- construction plan and schedules
- cost estimates
- economic and financial analysis
- preparation of feasibility study report
- environment impact assessment as per Environment Protection Regulation of GoN
