Feasibility Study and EIA of Middle Inkhu Hydropower Project
The project is for a hydropower with installed capacity of 20 MW in Solukhumbu district. The scope of work comprises (i) feasibility study of hydropower and (ii) EIA study of project. The study will undertake optimum development of potential hydropower site in the study areas based on detailed field survey comprising topographical surveys, geological, geo-technical and geophysical investigation, hydrological and sediment studies. The EIA study of the project will be as per Environment Protection Regulation (EPR) of GoN.

The project features include an weir with under intake structure, desanding basin, power conduits, penstock and surface power house. The IEE study of the project will be as per Environment Protection Regulation (EPR) of GoN.

Detailed Engineering Design & Preparation of Bidding Documents of Lower Seti (Tanahun) Hydropower Project (Grant No 0361-NEP: Project Preparatory Facility for Energy)
The consulting service is to carry out the detail engineering design and prepare bidding documents inclusive of tender drawings and construction plan of 104 MW project. The scope of services include review and validate existing surveys, studies and investigation; perform hydrological, sedimentology and hydraulic studies; conduct project optimization study; prepare detail design of project components, conduct power evacuation study, prepare cost estimates and construction plan, prepare bidding documents and tender drawings, prepare updated economic/financial analysis; analyze financial structure, financial plan and recommend the most appropriate structure/plan; and recommend appropriate institutional arrangement for project implementation. The major components of the design include headworks (45 m high gated dam with 2 intakes), underground desilting basin, hearace tunnel (8 m dia, length 5.5 km), surge shaft (18 m dia, 56 m high), vertical drop shaft (7.2 m dia, 80 m high), steel penstock, surface power house (60m x 24m x 43 m) and tailrace canal (length 250 m); electro-mechanical equipment (2 Francis turbines of 53.3 MW each, and 2 transformers of 62 MVA each).

Updating of Hydropower Study Guidelines, 2003

The design of the optimum scale of the project has been carried out along with preparation of the reports of the feasibility study level. The EIA study of the project is carried out as per the EPR of GoN.

The Techno feasibility study was carried out in coordination with existing Upper Bhote Koshi Hydroelectric Project operating system at the upstream and proposed Middle Bhote Koshi Hydroelectric Project at the downstream. Initial Environmental Examination was carried out in accordance with Environmental Protection Rules, 1997 (amendment 1999 and 2008).

Design of 132 kV Transmission Line, Upper Marsyangdi “A” (UM-0) Hydroelectric Project
The power evacuation system of 50 MW hydropower project will consist of 19 km, 132 kV transmission line to integrate with national power-grid system at the switchyard of Middle Marsyangdi Hydroelectric Project (MMHP) some 15 km downstream at Bhote Odar. The scope of work included detail survey, design, cost estimates, BOQ and specifications of the 132 kV transmission line. The estimated cost of the transmission line project is US$ 18 million.

Feasibility Study of Upper Marsyangdi “A” (UM-0) Hydroelectric Project
This is a 50 MW hydropower project proposed for development by private sector. The project will feature a 37.5 m high concrete diversion weir with ungated spillway, 5.3 km headrace tunnel, surface power house and 20 km, 132 kV transmission line for power evacuation to integrated with national power system. Approximate cost of the project will be US$ 138.26 million. The detailed feasibility study of the project was carried out along with EIA study and Acquisition Compensation & Resettlement Plan (ACRP).
