The project is for a hydropower with installed capacity of 84 MW generating 217 GWH energy per annum and to provide irrigation facility for 67,450 ha command area in Jhapa district. Scope of work include (i) feasibility study of hydropower, (ii) irrigation study considering activities and planning of Kankai Irrigation Project and other irrigation projects under Division Irrigation Office, Jhapa; (iii) access road, project road and transportation study; (iv) other study – fisheries development, recreation and water transport and tourism perspectives; (v) power market and transmission line study and (vi) EIA study of project.

Updating of Hydropower Study Guidelines, 2003

The study will (i) review, analyse and refer to the extent possible, all available previous studies, prevailing national and international standards and codes and practices relevant to develop best practice benchmarks and standards for study of hydropower projects; (ii) undertake necessary case studies, information and other relevant data from the different hydropower projects to ease the level of studies in different phases to be carried out, review and analyse the problems seen during the construction of hydropower in Nepal and counter measures to be taken in study and design and (iii) preparation of Standards for different phases of hydropower study – Reconnaissance or Preliminary of Desk Study, Pre-feasibility Study, Feasibility Study and Detail Engineering Study based on classification of hydropower projects – capacity (1-3, 3-10, 10-25, 25-100 and above 100 MW) and scheme (run-off river type, peaking Run-off river type, cascade type, storage type).

Feasibility and EIA Study of Dudh Koshi 4 Hydropower Project (67 MW)

Feasibility and EIA study of 67 MW run-off river type hydropower project located in Dudh Koshi in Solukhumbu District. The study undertook optimum development of potential hydropower sites in the study areas based on detailed field survey comprising topographical surveys, geological, geotechnical and geophysical investigation, hydrological and sediment studies,. The design of the optimum scale of the project has been carried out along with preparation of the reports of the feasibility study level. The EIA study of the project is carried out as per the EPR of GoN.

Techno Economic Feasibility Study, Environmental Impact Assessment, Financial Evaluation and Preparation of Tender Documents: Middle Bhote Koshi - I Hydroelectric Project

The project is for generation of 39 MW of hydropower from the tail race of Upper Bhote Koshi-I Hydroelectric Project with installed capacity of 36 MW located in Sindhupalchowk District. Scope of Work included (i) Techno-economic Feasibility Study (ii) Initial Environmental Examination and (iii) Preparation of tender document. The Techno feasibility study was carried out in coordination with existing Upper Bhote Koshi Hydroelectric Project operating system at the upstream and proposed Middle Bhote Koshi Hydroelectric Project at the downstream. Initial Environmental Examination was carried out in accordance with Environmental Protection Rules, 1997 (amendment 1999 and 2008).

Feasibility and EIA Study of Madi Khola (12.25 MW), Inkhu Khola (20 MW) and Budhiganga Khola (6.2 MW) Small Hydropower Projects (Package 1) - INKHU KHOLA

The Projects Madi Khola SHP, Inkhu Khola SHP and Budhiganga Khola SHP are located in Rolpa, Solukhumbu and Bajura Districts respectively. The projects are proposed for generating electricity on commercially viable basis by feeding the energy to the local centers and evacuating the surplus energy through National grid. The scope of study included (i) feasibility study of Inkhu Khola with 20 MW installed capacity and (ii) EIA study of the project.

Design of 132 kV Transmission Line, Upper Marsyangdi “A” (UM-0) Hydroelectric Project

The power evacuation system of 50 MW hydropower project will consist of 19 km, 132 kV transmission line to integrate with national power-grid system at the switchyard of Middle Marsyangdi Hydroelectric Project (MMHP) some 15 km downstream at Bhote Odar. The scope of work included detail survey, design, cost estimates, BOQ and specifications of the 132 kV transmission line. The estimated cost of the transmission line project is US$ 18 million.

Feasibility Study of Upper Marsyangdi “A” (UM-0) Hydroelectric Project

This is a 50 MW hydropower project proposed for development by private sector. The project will feature a 37.5 m high concrete diversion weir with ungated spillway, 5.3 km headrace tunnel, surface power house and 20 km, 132 kV transmission line for power evacuation to integrated with national power system. Approximate cost of the project will be US$ 138.26 million. The detailed feasibility study of the project was carried out along with EIA study and Acquisition Compensation & Resettlement Plan (ACRP).
